That's not marketing at all

Marketing
Wanted: People to hand out leaflets/newsletters starting 11/10/09. Starts at 9:30am and finish around 3pm. $8/hr cash at the end of the day.

The job teases on Craigslist are even worse than the spam bots that populate the casual encounters section. Please, tell me misleading job poster, what part of this job qualifies as "marketing"?

This happens every damn day. I’ll click on "AWESOME ADVERTISING JOB!!" and the ensuing description starts with "DO YOU LIKE CLEANING DOG **** FOR A LIVING?"

So really, when I go to Vegas and annoying bums on the street (who probably don’t even have their parents’ basement to live in) follow me around trying to shove mini pieces of pornography into my hands, is that considered marketing? If yes, I have even more experience than I thought.

My response:
Dear sneaky douche nugget,

This is not a marketing job. Your deception helps nobody and I request that you repost this as something like "Harass innocent bystanders on the street with useless literature" or "Be a menace to society today!"

Also, my resume is attached. Thanks.

Verdict: Sorry, I’ll (probably) PASS.
